Studiesshowthatpeoplewithhighself-esteemarelesslikelytobedepressed,anxious,shy,orlonelythanthosewithlowself-esteem.

But,afterreviewingabout18,000studiesonself-esteem,RoyBaumeister,apsychologistatFloridaStateUniversity,hasfoundthatbuildingupyourself-esteemwillnotnecessarilymakeyouabetterperson.

Hebelievesthatviolentandwickedpeopleoftenhavethehighestself-esteemofall.Healsosaid:

“There’snoevidencethatkidswithhighself-esteemdobetterinschool.”

Problems
