  Firstly,beautyisonlyskin-deep,asthesayinggoes,virtueismoreimportantthanappearance.Plasticsurgerycannotimproveone’scharacter.Whodoyouthinkismorepopular,anordinarygirlwithcharmingpersonality,orabeautifulgirlwitharrogantmanner?

Plasticsurgeryisasocialissuethatpeopletalkaboutsincethemillennium.Eachdayattheshoppingmall,foodstoreorgasstation,youmightfindpeoplewiththeirunnaturalfacialfeatures;itisoftenveryobviousyoucantellrightawaythatitmusthavebeendonebyaplasticsurgeon.Infuriatingly,someoutcomesofsurgerymakepeopleuglierthanbefore,andregrettablyitisbetoolate,andsomehastofacetheconsequencesofpotentialcomplications.Indeed,mostpayalotofmoneytoallowotherstotorturetheirbodiestogetridofbodyfat.Althoughthereareotherwaystofixwhattheythinkisabigproblem,asanalternativesomeofthemareseekingthequickfixtoimprovetheirappearance.Unfortunately,anumberofpatientsdiedbecauseofmedicalmalfunction;thisisasocialissueinthenewcenturythatcannotbeignored.

Traditionally,womengoforsurgerymostlyforayoungerlook;thefaceliftwasthemostcommonandnon-fatalsurgerydecadesago.Recently,moreandmorewomanandmanchangetheirbodybygastricbypass,liposuction,andcollagenorbotoxinjections.Somesurgeonsarenon-licensed,usingadvertisingtoattractthosethatwanttochangetheirbodyimmensely.

Manystudiesontherelationshipofapersonselfperceptionandotherperceptionoftheirappearancehavefoundthatapersonwhoisdeemedtobebeautifulisseenasbeingmorepersonable,sincere,kindandstrongthanothers.Why?

Thequestionofwhywomenundergounnecessarysurgerytomaketheirbodiesmorepleasingmayhelpustounderstandthenatureofbodydissatisfactioninwomen.Withthisinmind,youcanseejusthowimportantitistobefoundattractive,especiallyforawoman.Thereareanumberofcosmeticsurgeryproceduresthatmenandwomencanchoosefrominordertocreateanimagethatmakesthemfeelmoreconfidentandcomfortablewiththeirappearance.EightpercentwereAfrican-Americanin1998,upfromfourpercentin1992;eightpercentareHispanic,upfromfivepercent;andfourpercentareAsian,upfromthreepercent.We,ashumans,striveforaperfectbodilyimagethatwebelieveisasymbolofattractiveness.Wepushourselvestotheextremeinordertosurvive.Thetopthreecosmeticsurgeriesfor1999includedliposuction,breastaugmentation,andeyelidsurgery.Althoughhealthinsurancerarelycoversthecostofcosmeticprocedures,thenumberofindividualsdecidingtoundergocosmeticplasticsurgerycontinuestogrow.Consequently,weightissuesbegintotakeatollonhowyounggirlsperceivethemselves.Beinglessattractiveisadisadvantageforwomen'scareersandinthistimeoftwo-incomefamilieswomenmustworkevenharderontheirappearances.Age,race,gender,occupationandstatusareallinfluencestothosewhoundergocosmeticsurgery.Thepercentageof"seniors"aged65andoverwhoarechoosingtohavecosmeticsurgeryincreasedfromsixpercent(26,426procedures)in1992toninepercent(90,911procedures)in1998.However,theaveragemodelis5'11"andweighsonly117pounds.

 

JimAlexanderwasjuststoppingatalocalconveniencestoreforacupofcoffeeonhiswaytoworkin1996,butthenhislifechanged.TheIndianamanblackedoutandcrashedhiscar,whichburnedfor20minutesbeforerescuerscouldgethimout.
