1.Whocanthinkofanotherrecordwecanuse?
(L13)
谁能想出我们能创的其他记录来?
(1)thinkof意思是“考虑;想起,记起”,
当“考虑”讲时,可与thinkabout互换。
例如:
①Iamthinkingof/aboutsolvingtheproblem.
我正在考虑解决这个问题。
拓展句型:
Whatdoyouthinkof…?
你认为…怎么样?
②Whatdoyouthinkofthestorybook?
你认为这本故事书怎么样?
thinkabout考虑thinkover仔细考虑
thinkout想出,发现

仔细考虑,然后你就会想出答案。
(2)another意为“再一,又一”,强调三者或三者以上的又一个。
后跟名词单数。
theother表示“(两者之中)另一个”

another+数字=数字+more“再(多)一个”

然后,找出在你班里谁保持了这些记录。
findout意为“找出,发现,查明(真相)”。
①Canyoufindoutthetruth?
你能找出真相吗?
辨析:
lookfor“寻找”(强调寻找的动作,过程)
find“找到”(强调寻找的结果)
findout“找出”(通过观察后找出事实的真相或答案)
②—Whatareyoudoing?
—I’mlookingformywatch,butIcan’tfindit.
—你在干什么?
—我在找我的手表,但是我没找到。
3.Itweighsalmostthreekilos.它差不多有3千克重。
almost“差不多,几乎”,与nearly意思相近,
但almost表示更近一点。

注意:
almost可与no,never,nothing等不定代词连用,但nearly不可以。
而nearly可与not连用,almost却不可以。
③Almostnothingisleft.几乎什么都没剩。

5.Maybewecanfindanunusualrecord.
也许我们可以找一项不寻常的记录。
(1)maybe是副词,意思是“也许,可能”,通常放在句首,做状语;
maybe是情态动词may加be,意思是“可能是”,放在句中。
Maybeyouareright.=Youmayberight.也许你是对的。
(2)unusual“不寻常的”,反义词为usual。
un-为否定前缀,类似的词还有unhappy,unlike等。
Todayisunusualforme,becauseit’smybirthday.
今天对我来说不寻常,今天是我生日。

哪个国家拥有最多的人口?

population=thenumberofthepeople意思是“人口数”,做主语时,谓语动词用单数,形容人口多少用large和small。

②ThepopulationofChinaislargerthanthatofJapan.
中国的人口比日本的多得多。
③Chinahasapopulationof1.3billion.
中国的人口有13亿。

beproudof为…而自豪;
beproudtobe作为…而自豪

befullof=befilledwith“充满,装满”,强调状态。
fill…with…“用…把…装满”,强调动作

surprise“使惊奇”,还有以下常用的固定搭配:
besurprisedtodo=besurprisedatsth.“对…感到惊奇”;

12.can与beableto
can表示“有能力做某事”,只有现在时和过去时(could);
beableto表示“能够”,有多种时态。

13.“参加”小结
join表示“加入(某个组织,团体或党派)”,成为其中一员

joinin表示“参加活动”

14.本单元语法小结——形容词和副词的比较级和最高级。
(1)构成:
规则变化:
一般情况的+er/est
以e结尾的+r/st
以辅音字母+y结尾的,变y为i+er/estbusy—
以重读闭音节结尾,末尾只有一个辅音字母的,要双写这一辅音字母,再+er/esthot—
大多数双音节词和多音节词,只需在前+more/mostbeautiful—
不规则变化:
good-better-bestbad-worse-worst
(2)用法:
①than用于两者之间比较。
Iamtallerthanhe.
②adj.最高级前的the可以省略;
③adv.最高级前的the不能省略。
④比较级+and+比较级 表示“越来越……”

在春天,天变得越来越长。
⑤The+比较级,the+比较级。
“越…越…”
