However,inequalitybetweenmenandwomencantakeverymanydifferentforms.Indeed,genderinequalityisnotonehomogeneousphenomenon,butacollectionofdisparateandinterlinkedproblem.Thisissueofgenderinequalityisonewhichhasbeenpubliclyreverberatingthroughsocietyfordecades.Theproblemofinequalityinemploymentbeingoneofthemostpressingissuestoday.Inordertoexaminethissituationonemusttrytogettotherootoftheproblemandmustunderstandthesociologicalfactorsthatcausewomentohaveamuchmoredifficulttimegettingthesamebenefits,wages,andjobopportunitiesastheirmalecounterparts.Thesocietyinwhichwelivehasbeenshapedhistoricallybymales.
