WhenImovedbacknearmyhometownsixyearsago,IpromisedmyselfthatIwould

Andrewhadalwayswantedtobeadoctor.Butthetuitionforamedicalschool

agooddealwithhispresentagent.Thentheymadeanappointmenttomeetanddiscuss

thething.

Asgoodthingsarenevereasytoacquire,thetimefortheappointmenthad

tobechangedalmosttentimes.Onthedaywhentheyweresupposedtomeetat3o'clock

intheafternoon,Mr.Stewartreceivedanothercallfromtheowner.Hisheartsank

ashefearedtherewouldbeanotherchangeoftime.Andsoitwas.Theownertold

himthathecouldn'tmakeitatthreebutifhewouldcomerightthen,theycould

talkitover.Mr.Stewartwasoverjoyed.Leavingeverythingaside,heimmediately

setouttodrivetothehouse.

Asheapproachedthearea,hehadastrangefeelingofhavingbeentherebefore.

Thestreets,thetrees,theneighborhood,alllookedfamiliartohim.Andwhenhe

finallyreachedthehouse,somethingclickedinhismind.Itusedtobethehouse

ofhisfather-in-law!

Theoldmanhaddiedfifteenyearsagobutwhenhewasalive,

hehadoftenvisitedhimwithhiswifeandchildren.Herememberedthat,likehis

sonAndrew,hisfather-in-lawhadalsowantedtostudymedicineand,failingtodo

so,hadalwayshopedthatoneofhistwodaughtersorhisgrandchildrencouldsomeday

becomeadoctor.

education'.Itwasabankstatementofanamounthisfather-in-lawhadputinyears

moneytocoverthetuitionofAndrew'sfirstyearatamedicalcollege!

Anotherthingthatisworthmentioningisaboutthepostman.Theoriginal

postman,whohadworkedinthisneighborhood,calledinsickthatday.Sothepostman,

whowasnewtothearea,cametodelivermailinhisplace.Haditbeentheoldpostman,

theletterwouldundoubtedlybereturnedtothesenderasheknewfullwellthat

nopersonbearingthatnamelivedinthathouseanylonger.
