1Scopeofapplication

ThisStandardspecifiesbasicrequirementsforfirefightingandprotectionwhendesigningfornewconstruction,renovationorenlargementofhigh-risecivilworks..

ThisStandardisnotappliedforconstructionworkswithheightover100mandtheaters,gymnasiumsandmeetinghalls.

3Terminologyanddefinitions

3.1High-risebuildingsrefertobuildingsandpublicworkswithheightfrom25mto100m（equivalentto10floorsto30floors）

3.2Buildingheightistheheightcalculatedfromsidewalksurfacetotheloweredgeoftheguttersoreaves.

Topofmachineroom,watertank,machineroomoflift,mechanicalequipment,smoke-exhaustingequipmentontheroofshallnotbeincludedintheheightornumberoffloorsofhigh-risebuildings.

Basementorhalf-undergroundbasementofwhichtheceilingishigherthantheoutersidewalksurfacebynotmorethan1.5m,shallnotbeincludedinthenumberoffloorsofsuchhigh-risebuilding.

4Generalregulations

4.1Thefire-fightingandprotectiondesignforhigh-risecivilworksshallconformtotherequirementsinthisstandardandotherrelevantfirefightingandprotectionstandards.

4.2Whendesigningfirefightingandprotectionfornewconstruction,renovationorenlargementofhigh-risebuildings,itisrequiredtobaseontheplanningofthewholeareaorsectionandcloselycoordinatewiththefire-fightingandprotectiondesignsolutionoftheadjacentwork（arrangementoftrafficroads,fire-fightingwatersupplypipelinesystem,firealarminformation,etc.）

High-risebuildingdesignshallbeapprovedfordesignandfire-fightingequipmentbytheauthoritiesconcerned.

5.Requirementsforfireresistance

5.1High-risebuildingsshallbedesignedwithFire-resistantRate1andminimumfire-resistantlimitofthemaincomponentsaswellasmaterialsformakingsuchcomponentsasstatedinTable1

5.2Theminimumfireresistantlimitofotherfireprotectionpartsisasfollows:

-Door,windowandgateatfire-protectionwallshallbemadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfireresistantlimitnotlessthan45minutes.

-Thefireprotectionpartitionsshallbemadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfireresistantlimitnotlowerthan45minutes.

-Door,windowatfireprotectionpartition,fireprotection;firedoortobasement,roofdoorshallbemadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfireresistantlimitnotlessthan40minutes.

-Fireprotectionfloor（floorbetweenstoreys,floorofcellar,floorofmezzanine）shallbemadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfireresistantlimitnotlessthan60minutes.

5.3Forotherdoors,windows,roofdoors,floorsandpartitionswhicharenotstatedinItems5.1,5.2andwall/ceilingdecorationobjects,itisallowedtobemadeofflammablematerials.

5.4Loadresistantcomponentsofstairs（beam,landing,stair）shallbemadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfireresistantlimitnotlessthan60minutes.

5.5Wallandflooroftheliftwellarrangedindoorsshallbemadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfireresistantlimitnotlessthan60minutes.

Inthecaseofbeingarrangedoutdoors,suchwallsandfloorsshallbemadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfireresistantlimitnotlessthan30minutes.

5.6Roofsofthebuildingsareallowedtobemadeofflammableheat-insulatingmaterialsonthesurfaceofconcreteslabs,concretebeamsandcementasbestossheets.

5.7Inapartment-styledbuildings,thepartitionsbetweenunits/blocksshallbemadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfire-resistantlimitnotlessthan60minutes.Thepartitionsbetweenapartmentsshallbemadeofnon-flammablewithfire-resistantlimitnotlessthan40minutes.

5.8Partitionsinmid-corridorofthebuildingshallbemadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfire-resistantlimitnotlessthan30minutes.

5.9Floorandceilingwhichseparatewall-footstoryshallbemadeofnon-flammablewithfire-resistantlimitnotlessthan90minutes.

5.10Liftchamberfloor,lobbywithpassagefromstairsorlobbytoaspaceshallbemadeofnon-flammablewithfire-resistantlimitnotlessthan60minutes.

6.Fireprotectionrequirements

6.1Eachstoreyofhigh-risebuildingshallbedividedintocompartments.EachcompartmentshallhavemaximumareaasstatedinTable2

Note:

-AreaofeachcompartmentstatedinTable2canbedoubledifsuchcompartmentsaredesignedwithautomaticfirefightingsystem.Incaseautomaticfirefightingsystemisdesignedforpartofahold,theareaofsuchpartshallbedoubled.

6.2Thefireprotectionwallsshallbebuiltfromfoundationorfoundationbeamuptotopofbuildingheight,cuttingthroughallcomponentsandfloors.Itisallowedtobuildfireprotectionwalldirectlyonframestructureiftheframefire-resistantlimitislargerthanthatofthefireprotectionwall.

6.3Thefireprotectionwallshallbeensuredofdurability,notbeingcollapsedwhenthereisimpactfromonesideduetotheburningoffloor,rooforothercomponents.

6.4Nodoorshallbearrangedatfireprotectionwalls.Incaseitisnecessarytoarrangedoorsatfireprotectionwalls,therequirementinItem5.2shallbemet.

6.5Itisnotallowedtoplaceflammablegas/liquidconductpipesthroughthefireprotectionwall,floororpartition.

6.6Forotherservicepipes,whenplacingthemthroughthefire-protectionwall,floororpartition,itisrequiredtoplaceautomaticfireprotectionvalveatthepenetrationtopreventthefirefromspreadingalongthepipes.Aroundthepipeslocatedclosetothefireprotectionwall,floorandpartition,itisrequiredtoplasterwithnon-flammablemortarwithfireresistantlimitequivalenttothatoffireprotectionwall,floororpartition.

6.7Thestructuressurroundingliftwells,machinerooms,ditches,wells,nicheswhereconduitpipesareinstalledshallensurefireprotectionrequirementswithfireresistantlimitnotlessthan100minutes.Whenplacingbufferingholdsforthelift,thepartitionsshallhaveafire-resistantlimitnotlessthan45minutes.

6.8ItisnotpermittedtoarrangefireprotectionwallsatthetransitioncornerofaU-shapedorL-shapedhigh-risebuilding.Incaseafireprotectionwallispositionedclosetoatransitioncorner,thedistancebetweenthewindowandthefireprotectionwallshallnotbelessthan4m.Ifthewindowismadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfireresistantlimitnotlessthan60minutes,nodistanceshallberestricted.

6.9Toensurenofirespreading,afireprotectionwallshallbedesignedbetweenfloors.Theservicespipesconnectingafloortoanothershallbemadeofnon-flammablematerialsandacheckplatemustbeavailableoncerequired.

7Planarrangement

7.1High-risebuildingshallensureafire-fightingandprotectionspaceconformingtoTCVN2622:

1978andshallhaveanemptyareainfrontofthewaysoutatFloor1（Groundfloor）forsafeexit.ConstructionareaandmaximumlengthofthebuildingisstipulatedinTable3.

7.2Inabuildingwherethereareshop-windows,publicroom,kindergarten,roomseparationshallbemadewithnon-flammablewallandfloorwithfireresistantlimitnotlessthan45minutes.

7.3Oil,gasfurnaces,transformers,highvoltageelectricequipmentshallnotbeplacedinhigh-risebuildingsbutinaseparateroomoutside.

Inspecialcasewhenitisrequiredtoplacetheminside,then

1）thegas,oilfurnacesshallnotbeplacedabove,nexttoorbeneathacrowdedroom.Thepartitionsbetweenthefurnacesandotherroomsshallbemadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfireresistantlimitnotlessthan150minutes.Floorandotherseparatedpartsshallalsobemadeofnon-flammablematerialswithfireresistantlimitnotlessthan60minutes.

2）thefurnaces,transformersshallbelocatedinFloor1withdirectexit.

3）equipmentusingoilmusthaveoilspillageroomstructure.

7.4Roomstobeusedashall,kindergartenshallonlybelocatedinFloors1,2or3andneartheexits.

7.5Roomswhichareoftencrowdedwithpeopleshallnotbelocatedinthebasement.Ifitisnecessarytolocateinthebasement,thentheroomareashallnotbelargerthan300m2andthereshallbeatleast2directexits.

7.6Ifacar-parkislocatedinahigh-risebuildin
