  whenyouhave21minutestospeak,twomillionyearsseemslikeareallylongtime.butevolutionarily,twomillionyearsisnothing.andyetintwomillionyearsthehumanbrainhasnearlytripledinmass,goingfromtheone-and-a-quarterpoundbrainofourancestorhere,habilis,tothealmostthree-poundmeatloafthateverybodyherehasbetweentheirears.whatisitaboutabigbrainthatnaturewassoeagerforeveryoneofustohaveone?

well,itturnsoutwhenbrainstripleinsize,theydon’tjustgetthreetimesbigger;theygainnewstructures.andoneofthemainreasonsourbraingotsobigisbecauseitgotanewpart,calledthe”frontallobe.”andparticularly,apartcalledthe”pre-frontalcortex.”nowwhatdoesapre-frontalcortexdoforyouthatshouldjustifytheentirearchitecturaloverhaulofthehumanskullintheblinkofevolutionarytime?
