②灵犀:
犀角中心的髓质像一条白线贯通上下,借喻相爱双方心灵的感应和暗通。

④听鼓应官:
唐制:
五更二点,鼓自内发,诸街鼓承振,坊市门皆启。
鼓响天明,即须上班。
⑤兰台:
汉代藏图书秘籍的宫观,这里借指诗人供职的秘书省。
[这首有诗人自己出场的赋体无题,抒写对昨夜一夕相值、旋成间隔的意中人的深切怀想。
颔联身无、心有相互映照,不仅写出心虽相通而身不能接的苦闷,而且写出间隔中的契合、苦闷中的慰藉,将对立感情的相互渗透与交融表现得深刻细致而又主次分明。
星辰好风、灯红酒暖的追忆,加深了今昔相隔的怅惘。
诗写得是爱情,但这种人生的轻愁与无奈,又不仅限于爱情。
末联兰台转蓬固指诗人为职事所羁,不得与所爱如愿相会,同时也暗含了诗人两入秘省,仕途蹭蹬的人生经历。
故这种间隔之叹中的转蓬之感,便在爱情的怅惘中带有自伤身世的意味。
整首诗浅唱轻叹,惘怅绮美,较突出的体现了义山诗深情绵邈,典丽精工的特点。

②蓬山:
神话传说中的海上仙山。
这里借指所思念的女子的住处。
③青鸟:
传说中作为西王母信使的鸟,又叫青雀。
[这诗写暮春时节与所爱女子别离的伤感和别后悠长执着的思念。
首句翻出新意,谓相见固难,离别也令人难以为情。
第二句既像是交代双方别离时节正值暮春,是写实;又像是刻意为这难堪的别离设置一个黯然销魂的带有象征意味的背景和氛围。
它像是象征青春、爱情的消逝,又像是象征别离双方既难堪又无奈的心绪;甚至不妨认为它象征着一个春尽花残的大时代环境。
颔联充满了悲剧情调,甚至带有悲观绝望的色彩,但正是在这种仿佛绝望的悲哀痛苦中透露出感情的坚韧执着,既悲观又坚定,既痛苦又缠绵。
明知思念之徒劳与追求之无望,却仍要作无穷无尽的无望追求;明知思念与追求只能使自己终生与痛苦为伴,但却心甘情愿背负终生的痛苦去作无望的追求。
把殉情主义精神表现得如此深刻而富于悲剧美!
当然,此联也可应用于殉道,举凡为理想、事业鞠躬尽瘁,人们往往也不由想到这联诗。
腹联转从对面着笔,设想别后对方处境心情:
晨起览镜而忧青春易逝,夜凉吟诗应感月光凄寒。
设身处地为对方着想,情尤深至。
末联在刻骨的思念与忧伤中故作宽解,谓离居不远,尚能借青鸟传书致意,更见内心的悲痛和情之不能自已。
