LiteralTranslationmeansword-for-wordtranslation.Ittakessentencesasitsbasicunitsandthewholetextintoconsiderationatthesametimeinthecourseoftranslation.Itstrivestoreproduceboththeideologicalcontentandthestyleoftheentireliteraryworkandretainasmuchaspossiblethefiguresofspeech.

LiberalTranslationisalsocalledFreeTranslation.Itisasupplementarymeanstomainlyconveythemeaningandspiritoftheoriginalwithouttryingtoreproduceitssentencepatternorfiguresofspeech.

Foreignization:

Ifthetranslator’spreferenceisplacedonpreservingthelanguageandculturaldifferencesoftheSourceText,wecallthiskindofapproachesoritstranslationforeignizingorforeignization.

Domestication:

themethodorpracticeofadaptingthetranslationtothenormsandvaluesoftheTargetLanguageandcultureiscalleddomesticatingordomestication.

Conversionisaword-formationwherebyawordofacertainclassisshiftedintoawordclassofanotherwithouttheadditionofaffix.

Omissionistoomitsomewordswhicharenottranslatedintargetedtext,ortodeletethosedispensable,seemburdensomewordswhileremainkeepingworld‟soriginalmeanings.

Amplificationmeanssupplyingnecessarywordsinourtranslationonthebasisofaccuratecomprehensionoftheoriginal.

Cohesionreferstotherelationsofmeaningsexistwithinthetext.

Coherencecanbethoughtofashowmeaningsandsequencesofideasrelatetoeachother.
