TheLessWalkprojectboughtthousandsofnewrentalbikesfromfailedcompaniesandshippedthemtoMyanmar.OnceinMyanmar,thebikesarechangedtomakethemmoreusefulforstudents.Therentalbikesusedtorequireasmartphoneapptounlockthem.LessWalkchangedthisforalockwithakey.Theyalsoaddedasecondplacetositatthebackofthebikes,allowingtwochildrentoridetoschoolononebike.Recentlythey’veaddedanotherchange—they’reusingspecialtiresthatdon’tgoflattotaketheplaceofthebike’sregulartires.Withallthechanges,Mr.ThansayseachbikecostsLessWalkabout$35.
