歌曲是语言与音乐的结合,是一种兼具文学性和音乐性的听觉艺术。
歌曲本
身所蕴涵的思想感情及美学效果就是传递信息打动受众,即审美客体的重要手
段。
歌曲的翻译不同于一般的应用文翻译,其重要特征之一是应具有美学效果,
能给歌者和听者带来美感。
然而目前在歌曲翻译中还存在各种译文缺乏美感的现
象,此外,有关歌曲翻译理论的研究论著仍不多见,一些学者从功能对等理论角
度或以德国功能主义理论为指导,对英文歌曲汉译进行研究,并提出了一些指导
性的翻译策略和翻译原则。
本文将从另一视角,即翻译美学理论视角出发,尝试
寻找歌曲翻译实践中传递美感要素的方式,以期对英文歌曲汉译的研究和实践有
所裨益,从而提高英文歌曲翻译的质量。
本文采用了例证分析结合理论研究的方法,在翻译美学理论的指导下,通过
分析和比较较为典型的英文歌曲及其译作,探讨了歌曲翻译中美感传递的四个方
面,即韵的转换,节奏的转换,词句结构的调整,以及其他非形式美的要素(着
重讨论歌词中的明喻、暗喻、拟人及俚语的翻译)。
在今后的英文歌曲汉译实践中,我们应以翻译美学理论为指导,使译词尽量
符合中国人的审美观。

Abstract
Thesongisakindofcombinationoflanguageandmusic.The
songsbyitselfconveyitsaestheticinformationandarousefeelingswith
itsownsentimentsandaestheticeffect;thisisthemainaestheticvalue
ofthesongitself.Thetranslationofsongsisquitedifferentfromthatof
otherpracticalwritings.Withaestheticfeatures,songscanbringsingers
andlistenersaestheticfeelings;however,variouskindsofpresent
problemsleadtomuchlossofbeauty.Besides,thetheoreticalworks
concerningthisareaismuchmeager.TranslationofEnglishsongsinto
Chinesehasbeenstudiedfromfunctionalequivalencetheoryorthe
functionalism.Meanwhile,sometranslationstrategiesandprinciples
havebeendiscussed.Theauthoroffersanewperspective–tostudy
songtranslationfromtheperspectiveoftranslationaesthetics.The
presentresearchaimstoseekpossiblewaystorepresentbeautyin
translationpractice.Andtheauthorwishesthethesismayhavesome
enlightenmentonthestudyandpracticeinthisarea,inorderto
improvethequalityofChinesetranslationofEnglishsongs.
Basedonthetranslationaesthetics,sometypicalexamplesare
comparedandanalyzed.Thepresentthesisdiscussestheconveyance
ofaestheticeffectfromfouraspectsrespectively:
thetransformationof
rhyme,rhythm,wordsandsentencestructuresaswellasotherelements
ofbeauty(thetranslationofmetaphor,simile,personificationandslang
wordsinEnglishsongsarespecificallydiscussed).
Therefore,thepresentauthorsuggeststhattranslationaestheticsbe
aguidetofuturetranslationpracticeinordertomeetChinese
aesthetictastes.

1.5TheObjectivesandSignificanceoftheResearch
TheprominentpoetGoetheeverclaimedthathewhodoesnotlikemusicisnota
trueman.Asaspecialartisticform,songsarehighlyconnectedwithourdailylife.
Withoutsongs,ourlifewouldbecomesterileandboring.Thesongisnotonly
regardedasthemostdirectandconcisewaysforexpressingfeelings,ideasand
emotions,butalsoisconsideredasanimportantrepresentativeofthedegreeofhuman
civilization.Assongwhichplaysacrucialroleintheubiquitouschangesnowadays,it
reflectsinformationofmanyaspects,suchaspolitics,economicsandculture.Assuch,
songtranslationhascometotheattentionofresearchersathomeandabroadbothin
thefieldsofmusicologyandlinguistics.
Thesong,asaspecialtypeofart,theyhavetheirowncharacteristics.Themusical
peculiarityisthenatureofsongs.Thethoughts,emotions,andaestheticeffectare
importantmeanstoconveymessagesandstrikereceptors.Therefore,songtranslation
isdifferentfrompureliteraryworks’translation.Itisapieceofworkofartcreation.
Insongtranslation,atranslatorshouldreproducetheaestheticeffectoftheoriginal
