EveryyearbroughtsomanyperformersandfanstoFanFairthat,in1982,itwasmovedtotheTennesseeStateFairgrounds.FanFairstayedatthefairgroundsfor

anothernineteenyears.

Therewasalwaystheunexpectedduringthefestival.In1974,formerBeatlePaulMcCartneyattended.In1992,morethansixhundredreportersfromEurope,Asia,andSouthAmericawenttocovertheappearanceofapopularstar,BillyRayCyrus,whohadintroducedanewcountrylinedance.In1996,GarthBrooks,whomadeasurpriseappearance,signe
