HDRisanannualreportlaunchedbyUNDP（UnitedNationsDevelopmentProgram联合国开发计划署）in1990tostimulateandinformglobaldevelopmentdebate.Theworld's173countriesarerankedaccordingtotheirlevelofhumandevelopment.UsuallyeveryHDRfocusesonsomekeyissuesuchasdemocracy.CountrybycountryassessmentoftrendstowardsachievingtheUNMDGs（UnitedNationsMillenniumDevelopmentGoals联合国千年发展目标）isalsogiven.

Warmingupbygettingtoknowwhathumandevelopmentis

Theconceptofhumandevelopmentfocusesontheendsratherthanthemeansof'development'andprogress.Therealobjectiveofdevelopmentshouldbetocreateanenablingenvironmentforpeopletoenjoylong,healthyandcreativelives.Thoughthismayappeartobeasimpletruth,itisoftenforgottenintheimmediateconcernwiththeaccumulationofcommoditiesandwealth.
