Descriptionofthedistrict
TheMountPleasantIndependentSchoolDistrictislocatednearthecenterofTitusCounty,116mileseastofDallasonInterstate30.TitusCountyencompasses230squaremileswithapopulationofover25,000.MountPleasantisthecountyseatandhasapopulationofapproximately14,000.
TheBoardofTrusteesanditsadministrationareconstantlyseekingtoimproveanalready-excellentschoolsystem.In2000,theMountPleasantcommunityoverwhelminglyendorsedasignificantcapitalimprovementplanthathasresultedin3newelementaryschools,additionstotheJuniorHigh,anewCafeteriaBuildingatMountPleasantHighSchool,newgynasiums,newfootballfield,track,tenniscourts,andrenovationstotheHighSchool.
InstructionfocusesonacomprehensivecollegepreparatoryandCareerandTechnologystudies.Thedistrictiscurrentlyinvestingheavilyincomputerandmultimediaeducationaltechnologyinaefforttomeettheacademicandoccupationaltrainingdemandsofahighlycompetititveworkplace.ThecurriculumoftheMountPleasantISDiscontinuouslyevaluatedandupdatedinaefforttomeettheneedsofallstudentsandthedemandsofthecommunity,regionalandnationalbusinesses,andindustries.Thedistrictencouragesandwelcomesinvolvementfromparents,civicorganizations,industry,andlocalcitizenstoprovidethebesteducationalopportunitiespossibleforitsstudents.

Mt.PleasantIndependentSchoolDistrictwillhavehighexpectationsforallstudents.Thedistrictwillmakeeveryefforttoattractandretainthemostqualifiedteachersavailablewhowillenhancethepositiveimageofourschoolsinthecommunity.Thecaringatmosphereprovidedbytheseteacherswillhelppromotethepositiveself-imageforthestudentsinthedistrict.MPISDwillencouragepositivestaffmoralebyprovidingcleanandattractivecampuses.
MPISDwillemphasizeateaching/learningprocessthatwillenablestudentstosee―reallife‖connections
