1)Backgroundinformation:

Sinceatleastthe1970speoplehavebeenawareofenvironmentalissues,butinrecentyearswidespreadconcernhasfocusedmoreonclimatechangeandglobalwarming.Climatechangeisoneresultofglobalwarming,andhasseriouspotentialconsequences.Itcouldcauseicecapstomelt,whichwouldleadtoariseinsealevels,whichinturncouldendangercoastalcities.Climatechangecouldalsocauseincreasesindroughts,floods,stormsandcyclones,whichcouldaffectwatersuppliesandleadtoanincreaseindesertsandadecreaseinharvests,andthusfoodshortages.Soenvironmentalawarenessisimportantforeveryone.

2)Environmentalawareness

Itmeansthatpeopleareawareoftheirimpactontheenvironment.Thisincludesanawarenessofmajorenvironmentalissues,suchasclimatechange,globalwarming,pollution,recyclingandenergy-saving,andtheroleofpeopleinthem.Environmentally-awarepeoplehavesomeknowledgeofpossiblesolutionsandmakecommitmenttopracticalactiontowardssolutions.Thiscommitmentisoftencalled“green”.Ifbusinessesuseagreenlabel,theytrytoshowthattheysupporttheprotectionoftheenvironment.Themeaningofenvironmentalawarenesshasbecomebroaderaspeoplehavecometounderstandthecomplexityofenvironmentalproblemsandtheimpactofpeopleontheenvironment

Thecarbonfootprintisameasureofthedirectcontributionofcarbonfromenergyuse.
