4.CambridgeIGCSEChemistryisacceptedbyuniversitiesandemployersasproofofessentialchemistryknowledgeandability.Aswellasasubjectfocus,theChemistrysyllabusenablesstudentsto:

•betterunderstandthetechnologicalworldinwhichtheylive,andtakeaninformedinterestinscienceandscientific(科学的、系统的)developments

•learnaboutthebasicprinciplesofChemistrythroughamixoftheoretical(理论的)andpracticalstudies

•developanunderstandingofthescientificskillsessentialforfurtherstudyatALevel,skillswhichareusefulineverydaylife

5.CambridgeIGCSEChemistrycandidatesareawardedgradesrangingfromA*toG.成绩从A*到G.

6.CandidatesexpectedtoachievegradesD,E,ForG,studytheCoreCurriculum核心课程onlyandareeligible(有资格、合格的)forgradesCtoG.CandidatesexpectedtoachievegradeCorhighershouldstudytheExtendedCurriculum延展课程,whichcomprisestheCoreandSupplementCurriculums;thesecandidatesareeligibleforallgradesfromA*toG.

一、Paper1:

单项选择,45分钟占总成绩的30%

二、Paper2:

核心理论,1小时15分钟,占总成绩的50%

Paper3:

扩充理论,1小时15分钟,占总成绩的50%

三、Paper4:

修习,指定功课,职业培训(school-basedassessment)

Paper5:

实验操作,1小时15分,占总成绩的20%

Paper6:

实验笔试(writtenpaper),1小时,占总成绩的20%

8.Assessmentobjectives评价目标:

ThethreeassessmentobjectivesinCambridgeIGCSEChemistryare:

A.Knowledgewithunderstanding

Studentsshouldbeabletodemonstrate(展示)knowledgeandunderstandinginrelationto:

scientificphenomena,facts,laws,definitions,conceptsandtheories

scientificvocabulary,terminology(术语)andconventions常规(includingsymbols,quantitiesandunits)

scientificinstrumentsandapparatus,includingtechniquesofoperationandaspectsofsafety

scientificquantitiesandtheirdetermination

scientificandtechnologicalapplicationswiththeirsocial,economicandenvironmentalimplications涉及、密切关系.

B.Handlinginformationandproblemsolving

Allcandidatesmustenterforthreepapers:

Paper1;eitherPaper2orPaper3;andonefromPapers4,5or6.

CandidateswhohaveonlystudiedtheCorecurriculum,orwhoareexpectedtoachieveagradeDorbelow,shouldnormallybeenteredforPaper2.

CandidateswhohavestudiedtheExtendedcurriculum,andwhoareexpectedtoachieveagradeCorabove,shouldbeenteredforPaper3.

Allcandidatesmusttakeapracticalpaper,chosenfrom:

Paper4(Coursework),Paper5(PracticalTest),orPaper6(AlternativetoPractical).

Forcandidateswhodonotmeetthecriteriaforascoreof2,ascoreof1isavailableifthereissomeevidenceofpositiveachievement.

Ascoreof3isavailableforcandidateswhogobeyondtheleveldefinedfor2,butwhodonotmeetfullythecriteriafor4.

Similarly,ascoreof5isavailableforthosewhogobeyondtheleveldefinedfor4,butdonotmeetfullythecriteriafor6.
