In1956Kampradsawamandisassembling(拆卸)atabletomakeiteasiertotransport.Kampradwasinspired.Themanhadgivenhimagreatideaflatpackaging.FlatpackagingwouldmeanlowershippingcostsforIKEAandlowerpricesforcustomers.IKEAtrieditandsalessoared.Theproblemwasthatpeoplehadtoassemblefurniturethemselves,butovertime,eventhisgrewintoanadvantageforIKEA.Nowadays,IKEAisoftenseenashavingconnotations(内涵)ofself-sufficiency.Thisimagehasdonewondersforthepany,leadingtobettersalesandcontinuedexpansion.
