AsweknownthatthemerchantofVeniceisoneofShakespeare’smostimportantworks.Itisacomedy.Thethemeofthisplayistoextolkindheartedness,friendshipandlove.Andalsoitreflectstheconflictsbetweenthecapitalistsandusurersatthebeginningofthecapitalistsociety.Anditexpressestheauthor’shumanistideaonmoney,lawandreligionincapitalistsociety.Thisthesisanalyzesthemainfiguresintheplaybyusingindependentandcontrastways.Itshowstheheavilyflavorofhumanismatthebeginningofcapitalistsociety;andexpressessomethoughtsforsocietyandhumanbeing.ThethesisalsomakesahardcriticismtoShylock,whoisarepresentativeoffeudalism,andputsaheavyhumanismonPortia.Itdisplaysthethoughtsoffeudalismpersonalityliberation,andstressingthegreatbreakthroughofwoman’sstatusandfeminineconsciousnessinElizabethanera.

TheMerchantofVeniceisoneoftheShakespeare’sfamouscomediesinhisearlytime.It’sthemeistoextolkindness,friendshipandlove.ItisthemirrorofthecontradictionbetweenbusinessbourgeoisandusureratthebeginningoftheCapitalistsociety.It’salsoexpressedtheauthor’shumanismideasonmoney,lawandreligioninthissociety.There,wementionHumanism--themaindistinguishingfeatureofthatperiod,alsothebrightnesscharacteristicwhichisshownfromtheimportantroleinthisplay.
