In1826,aFrenchmannamedNiepceneededpicturesforhisbusiness.Buthewasnotagoodartis.Soheinventedaverysimplecamera（照相机）.Heputitinawindowofhishouseandtookapictureofhiagarden.Thatwasthefirstphoto.

Thenextimportantdateinthehistoryofphotography（摄影术）wasin1837.Thatyeat,Daguere,anotherFrenchman,tookapictureofhisreadingroom.Heusedanewkindofcamerainadifferentway.Inhispictureyoucouildseeexerythingveryclearly,eventhesmallestthing.ThiskindofphotowascalledaDaguerreotype.
