InWesternsociety,fourdistanceshavebeendefinedaccordingtotherelationshipbetweenthepeopleinvolved.Theyareintimatedistance,personaldistance,socialdistance,andpublicdistance.Thesefourdistancesareassociatedwiththefourmaintypesofrelationship--intimate,personal,socialandpublic.

Nowwe'lltalkaboutthefourpersonaldistancesonebyone.
