Theft deterrent system
Todeterthevehicletheft,thesystemisdesignedtogiveanalarmandkeeptheenginefrombeingstartedifanyofthefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhoodisforciblyunlockedorthebatteryterminalisdisconnectedandthenreconnectedwhenthevehicleislocked.
Thealarmblowsthehornintermittentlyandflashestheheadlights,taillightsandotherexteriorlights.Theenginecannotbestartedbecausethestartercircuitwillbecut.
SETTING THESYSTEM
1.Turntheignitionkeytothe“LOCK”positionandremoveit.
2.Haveallpassengersgetoutofthevehicle.
3.Closeandlockthefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhood.
Theindicatorlightwillcomeonwhenthefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhoodareclosedandlocked.
Asthefrontdoorsarelocked,thesystemwillgiveyouapreparationtimeof30secondsbeforethesetting,duringwhichthefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhoodmaybeopenedtoprepareforthesetting.
Becarefulnottousethekeywhenopeningeitherfrontdoor.Thiswillcancelthesystem.
4.Aftermakingsuretheindicatorlightstartsflashing,youmayleavethevehicle.
Thesystemwillautomaticallybesetafterthepreparationtimeelapses.Theindicatorlightwillflashtoshowthesystemisset.Ifanyofthefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhoodisopenedatthattime,thesettingisinterrupteduntilitisclosedandlocked.
Neverleaveanyoneinthevehiclewhenyousetthesystem,becauseunlockingfromtheinsidewillactivate(使起动)thesystem.
WHENTHESYSTEMISSET
Activatingthesystem
Thesystemwillgivethealarmandcutthestartercircuitunderthefollowingconditions:
Ifanyofthefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhoodisunlockedwithoutusingthekey
Ifthebatteryterminalisdisconnectedandthenreconnected
Afteroneminute,thealarmwillautomaticallystopwiththestartercircuitcutkepton.
Reactivatingthealarm
Onceset,thesystemautomaticallyresetsthealarmeachtimethefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhoodareclosedafterthealarmstops.
Thealarmwillbeactivatedagainunderthefollowingconditions:
Ifanyofthefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhoodisopened
Ifthebatteryterminalisdisconnectedandthenreconnected
Stoppingthealarm
Turntheignitionkeyfromthe“LOCK”to“ACC”position.Thealarmwillbestoppedwiththestartercircuitcutkepton.Stoppingthealarminthismannerwillkeepthealarmfrombeingreactivatedwhenanyofthefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhoodisopened.
Interruptingthesetting
Withthesystemset,thebackdoorcanbeopenedwiththekeywithoutactivatingorcancelingthesystem.Whileitisopen,thefrontandslidingdoorsandhoodmaybeopenedinaddition,andthesystemcanbeactivatedonlybythebatteryterminaldisconnection.
Toresumethesetting,closeandlockthefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhood.Thebackdoormustbeclosedwiththekeyremoved.
CANCELLING THE SYSTEM
Unlockeitherfrontdoorwiththekey,orunlocktheslidingdoorwiththekeywhenithasbeenclosed.Thiscancelsthesystemcompletelyandthestartercircuitcutwillbecancelledatonce.
INDICATOR LIGHT
Theindicatorlightgivesthefollowingthreeindicationswhenthesystemisinuse.Whenthelightis:
FLASHING—Thesystemisset.Youneedthekeytoopenthefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhood.
ON—Thesystemwillautomaticallybesetwhenthetimecomes.Thefront,slidingandbackdoorsandhoodmaybeopenedwithoutakey.
OFF—Thesystemisinactive.Youmayopenanydoorandhood.
TESTING THE SYSTEM
1. Openthedriver’sandfrontpassenger’swindows.
2. Setthesystemasdescribedabove.Thefrontdoorsshouldbelockedwiththekey.Besuretowaituntiltheindicatorlightstartsflashing.
3. Unlockoneofthefront,slidingandbackdoorsfromtheinside.Thesystemshouldactivatethealarm.
4. Cancelthesystembyunlockingeitherfrontdoorwiththekey.
5. Repeatthisoperationfortheotherdoorsandhood.Whentestingonthehood,alsocheckthatthesystemisactivatedwhenthebatteryterminalisdisconnectedandthenreconnected.
Ifthesystemdoesnotworkproperly,haveitcheckedbyyourToyotadealer.
