Themorewell-knownhotspots,bycontrast,haveaccumulatedtheirlargenumbersofspeciesbybeingwarm,hospitableandrelativelystable.Indeed,theresearchershavefoundthatthecountlessbirdspeciesthatcalltheAmazonhometendtobeolderinevolutionaryterms.Thatactuallyaccountsforhigherspeciesrichnessthere.
