Thoughthestoryhappenedover3000yearsagoinaremoteplace,Iwasdeeplyfascinatedbyit.ThemysteriousplotisoneofthereasonswhyIlovedTheStoryofTroysomuch,yetIammoreinterestedinthehumanheroesofthewar.
HectorwastheeldestsonofkingofTroy,Priam.HewasnotonlyarealheroofTrojan,butwasregardedthehighestmoralheroinGreekclassicbylaterhistorians.
Thewarstartedbecauseofthemischiefofhisbrother,Paris,whomhedidn’tappreciate.However,sinceHectorwasthecommanderoftheTrojanarmy,hewasobligedtofightwithallforce.Itwasreallyatragedythatsuchavaliantmandiedintheduelwithanothergreatwarrior,Achilles.
Itisnaturaltoseedeathinawar.AsafamousChineseparablesays,“Alifecanbeasslightasapieceoffeather,orasweightyasMountTai.”Sometimes,one’sglorywalkshandinhandwithone’sdoom.Achilleswassuchatypicalperson.HispersonalcharmmadeTheStoryofTroymoreattractive.
