AsGonewiththeWindistheplotfoundationthisthesis,soatthebeginning,Iwouldgiveanintroductiontothewriterofthisnovel.MargaretMitchellisoneofthemostfamousAmericanwomenwriters.Shewasborninamiddle-classfamilyinAtlanta,Georgia,in1900.Hermotherwasawelleducatedsuffragettesupportingforwomen'svoteright.HerfatherwasalawyerwhowasknownforhisintelligenceandpunctiliousnessinAtlanta.WhenMargaretwasjustayoungchild,sheenjoyedwritingandlisteningtheveteran'stalkingaboutstoriesoftheWarBetweentheStates.In1929,sheaccomplishedheronlynovelGonewiththeWind,whichtooknamefromErnstDawson’spoetry‘Ihaveforgotmuch,Cynara!
