.modern-looking为合成形容词,由形容词/副词+现在分词,常见的有:

stood为系动词,threefeethigh是表语,当动词后的形容词,名词等被用来描述和说明句子主语而非动词所表示的动作时,这样的动词称为系动词,除be动词外还有:
