同样的结构还有from...till..和from....To....
From....until和from...till只可用来表示时间，但from...to不仅可表示时间，还可用来表示地点。

.modern-looking为合成形容词，由形容词/副词+现在分词，常见的有：

stood为系动词，threefeethigh是表语，当动词后的形容词，名词等被用来描述和说明句子主语而非动词所表示的动作时，这样的动词称为系动词，除be动词外还有：
feel,seem,smell,sound,appear,look,taste,laysitfall,get,go,turn.等
