Nowscientistsaredevelopingevenbetterequipment.Withthisnewequipment,mencanstaybelowthesurfacefordaysorevenweeks.In1962Cousteausetuparesearchstation35feetbelowthesurface.Then,in1964,hesetupanotherstationontheoceanflooroftheRedSea.Thiswasthefirstunderseastationtooperatewithouthelpfromthesurface.
