cordingtoapressreleaseonthereport,researcherssharedthatcoffeedrinkersare“lesslikelytodiefromheartdisease,respiratorydisease,stroke,injuriesandaccidents,diabetes,andinfections,althoughtherelationshipwasnotseenforcancer.”

Resultsindicatedparticipantsthatdrankthreeormorecupsof coffeeadayreducedtheirriskofdeathby10percent.Basedonthefindingsthatbothcaffeinatedandnon-caffeinatedcoffeefoundsimilarresults,researchersarethinkingcaffeineisnottheprotectiveingredient（原料）,althoughwhichingredientincoffeemightbe,theyarenotsure.

Researchersindicatethatdespitetheseobservationalfindings,theycaution（警告）itisnotclearwhetherornotdrinkingcoffeeactuallyextendslifeexpectancy.

“CoffeeisoneofthemostwidelydrunkdrinksinAmerica,buttherelationshipbetweencoffeeconsumptionandriskofdeathhasbeenunclear.Wefoundcoffeeconsumptiontobeassociatedwithlowerriskofdeathoverall,andofdeathfromanumberofdifferentcauses,”saidNealFreedman,Ph.D.,DivisionofCancerEpidemiologyandGenetics,NCI.

“Althoughwecannotinferarelationshipbetweencoffeedrinkingandlowerriskofdeath,webelievetheseresultsdoprovidesomecomfortthatcoffeedrinkingdoesnotadversely（不利地）affecthealth,”Freedmansaid.
