•Duringtheearly1960s,thebeatleswereinfluencedbyAmericanrocksingers,suchasChuckBerryandElvisPresley.Theyhadtheirfirsthitin1962withacatchysongcalledLoveMeDo（1962）.In1964,aftertheyhadbecomestarsintheirowncountry,theBeatlestouredtheUnitedStatesandwereahugesuccess.

•Duringthemid-1960s,theBeatleswereoneofthebandswhichgaverockmusicanewdirection.Someoftheirsongswerequiteserious,suchasNowhereMan,therewereballadssuchasYesterdayandmorecomplexsongssuchasStrawberryFieldsForever.

•Bythelate1960s,theirmusichadchangedcompletely.Theyhadstoppedwritingsimplesongswithcatchytunes.Thetunesandthelyricshadbecomemoreinterestingandtheyhadbeguntousenewinstruments,too.Forexample,aftervisitingIndia,theystartedusingIndianinstruments.

•Someoftheiralbumschangedpopmusiccompletely.TheirlastalbumwasLetitBe,theysplitup.Bythetimetheystoppedworkingtogether,theyhadsoldmorealbumsthananyotherbandinhistory.Afterthegrouphadbrokenup,alltheBeatlesperformedassoloartistsorstartedotherbands.
