TheReadingFestivalistrulyworld-classwithrockandpopbands(乐队)appearingfromallovertheworld,particularly(尤其)theUSA.About80,000musicfansgotoReadingeveryAugustBankHoliday.ThefestivalfirstcametoitspresentsiteonthebanksoftheRiverThamesinReadingin1971,whenitmovedfromPlumptoninSussex.Itisstillonthesamesiteover47yearslater!

WOMADstandsforWorldofMusic,ArtsandDanceandwastheideaofrockmusicianPeterGabrieltopromote(宣传)worldmusic.TheWOMADFestivalstartedin1982andtakesplaceinJulyatCharltonPark,nearMalmesburyinWiltshire,andyoucanseedifferentbandsandmusiciansfromallovertheworld.Thefestivalwelcomesover26,000visitorseachyear.

Theone-dayMonstersofRockFestivalattheNationalBowlinMiltonKeyneswasfirstheldin1980andgavevisitorsthechancetoheartheverybestofhardrockandheavymetal.Therewerenofestivalsbetween1996and2003asaresultofchangingmusicalfashions,butnowithasreturnedandgrownintoatwo-dayfestivalwithacampsiteforthe30,000peoplewhogothereinsummerdays.
