AstudyfromresearchersattheUniversityofQueenslandshowsthatstayingoffofFacebookforfivedayscanactuallylowerlevelsofthestressinthebody.Yetdespitethestudy,andtherecentDeleteFacebookmovement,Facebookuserstatisticsremainstrong.

Asscholarsofpublicresponsibilityanddigitalmediasystems,weknowthatthebusinessofsocialmediaisbasedonuserdataandofferingitforsale.There’snosinglewayforthemtoprotectdataasmanyusersmightexpect.Likethesocialpollutionoffakenews,bullying(欺诈)andjunkmailthatFacebook’splatformspreads,thecompany’sprivacycrisisalsoresultsfromapowerimbalance—Facebookknowsnearlyeverythingaboutitsusers,whoknowlittletonothingaboutit.
