Effectsofchronicstress

Thebodydoesn’tdistinguishbetweenphysicalandpsychologicalthreats.Whenyou’restressedoverabusyschedule,anargumentwithafriend,atrafficjam,oramountainofbills,yourbodyreactsjustasstronglyasifyouwerefacingalife-or-deathsituation.Ifyouhavealotofresponsibilitiesandworries,youremergencystressresponsemaybe“on”mostofthetime.Themoreyourbody’sstresssystemisactivated,theeasieritistotripandtheharderitistoshutoff.
