Ⅴ动词-ing形式用法补充说明:
1表示一般或抽象的、经常性的动作。
在句型It’s+nouse(nogood,useless,awasteoftime...)+doingsth.中,it是形式主语,后面的动词-ing短语作真正的主语。
2.
(1)有些动词后常接动词-ing形式作宾语,常见的这类动词有:
admit,consider,dislike,avoid,enjoy,escape,finish,keep,imagine,mind,risk,suggest,practice,beworthdoingsth等。
(2)在某些固定的短语中,介词可以省略。
如:
sb.hasdifficulty(in)doingsth.,spend…(in)doingsth,等等。
3.说明被动词-ing形式修饰的名词的用途时,通常可以改为for短语。
thereadingroom=theroomforreading阅览室。
又如:
readingmaterials阅读材料;
ashoppingbag购物袋;
awashingmachine洗衣机等。
4.表示被动词-ing形式修饰的名词主动发出的动作,可以转换成对应的定语从句。
如thesleepingchild=thechildwhoissleeping。
5.动词-ing形式的一般式的被动语态(beingdone)作定语时,表示某动作正在被进行;
动词-ing形式完成式(havingdone)作定语时,表示该动作发生在谓语动词所表示的动作之前。
