IliveinatownjustintheoutskirtsofLondonsoasyoucanimagineI'
malwaysinandoutofthemagical,bigcity.Yes,soithasitsdownpoints;
thefactthatthere'
salwaysawaveofpollutionhittingyouassoonasyougetoutofyourcarorthetrain.Thefactthatpeoplearesobusythattheybrushpastyou,hammeringyourshoulderhardandnoteventurningbacktoapologize.Andalsothefactthatifyoudon'
tholdotoyourhandbagproperly,itwillgetknockedoff/stolenandneverbefoundagain.
But...whenyoulookatthebiggerpicturethereisnoplaceIwouldratherbein.Theexcitementthrillsmeofbeingsomewherewhereeverydayisanewadventure-whereeverydayyouencounterpeopleyouhavenevermetbeforewhosuddenlybecomelife-longfriends.
IknowafewpeopleinNottingHill,whodespitehavinggonetothebestschoolinEnglandandlivinginthemostfantastichouses,theycertainlybreakthestereotypeasthe'

.Theyarefun-loving,wonderful,kind,crazy,loudandIknowthatifIweretoeverhaveaproblemtheywouldcertainlybethereforme.
IalsoknowquiteafewpeopleinChiswickhavinglivedtherefor3monthsanddespitebeingfun-loving,wonderfulandkind,theyarealsointenselyquiet,smartandabsolutelyperfectforparadingthroughmuseumsortheaters.

mwritingunfairlyconsideringthatthemostIhavespentinthecountrysidewasthetotalof6dayswherethewholeclasswasmadetogobytheBiologyteachersaspartofafieldtrip.Itwashorrible(tomeanyway).TherewerenoshopsformilesandassoonasIemergedmyheadoutofthewindow,theonlythingIcouldseeweresoggy,greenfieldsandthesmellofcowdungwhichpermeatedtheairandtheonlythingIlikedaboutitwasthatIcouldwearmybrandnewblackwithpinkspotswellies(whichaweeklaterwereamaindisplayattheBentallscentreinKingston).NotonlythatbuttheonlymemoryIhaveofthetripwaswalkingforwhatseemedlikemilesandmilesjusttogettotheseaside.
