In1975,theSanDiegoZooInstituteforConservationResearchstartedtheFrozenZoo,aprogramthroughwhichresearchershavecollectedcell(细胞)samplesfrommorethan8,000differenttypesofanimals,includingthenorthernwhiterhino.Scientistshopethatbystudyingtherhinocells,theywillgetgreaterunderstandingofit,andwillfindwaystoincreaseitsnumbers.
