theteacher,thechild,theschoolitselfandtheoutercommunity.Thesefourelementswillinfluenceandbeinfluencedbyeachotheratmanylevelsinavarietyofways.Theteacher,forexample,bringsintotheschoolallhisownhabitsofmind,attitudes,beliefs,values,waysofdoingthingsandseeingtheworldwhichhehasinheritedfromthesocietyinwhichhewasbroughtup.Thesefactorswillinfluencethechildren,theschoolandthecommunityoutside.Thechildbringsintotheschooleverythingwhichhehaslearnedinhisfamily-habits,attitudes,beliefs,etc.-andtheteacherandtheschoolwillrespondtothese.Theschoolitselfisasocialorganizationwithspecialrequirementsofbehaviour,influencedbythegenerallyacceptedvaluesandtraditionsofeducation,builtupovertheyears.Boththechildandtheteachermustadaptthemselvestothese.Theschoolinfluencesthewidercommunityaroundit,bothbyproducingthemanpowerwiththeskillsneededbysociety,andbyshapingthebeliefsandattitudesoftheyoungenteringsociety.Asforthecommunity,itinfluencestheactualorganizationoftheschoolthroughsuchgroupsasgovernors,parent-teacherassociations,administrators,etc.,andinalessformalway,itisrepresentedbythoseworkingintheschool,thechildren,theteachersandservicingstaff.
Withallthesefactorsinmind,itisobviousthatschoolsmaydiffergreatlyaccordingtothenatureofthecommunitywhichtheyserve.E
