AncientFestivals

Themostenergeticandimportantfestivalsaretheonesthatlookforwardtotheendofwinterandtothecomingofspring.AttheSpringFestivalinChina,peopleeatdumplings,fishandmeat,andmaygivechildrenluckymoneyinredpaper.Therearedragondancesandcarnivals,andfamiliescelebratethelunarNewYeartogether.InsomeWesterncountriesthereareveryexcitingcarnivals,whichtakeplacefortydaysbeforeEaster,usuallyinFebruary.Theymightincludeparades,dancinginthestreetsdayandnight,loudmusicandcolourfulclothingofallkinds.EasterisanimportantreligiousandsocialfestivalinChristiancountries.ItcelebratesthereturnofJesusforChristiansanditalsocelebratesthecomingofspring.InJapan,theCherryBlossomFestivalhappensalittlelater.Thecountryiscoveredwithcherrytreeflowerssothatitlooksasthoughitmightbecoveredwithpinksnow.
