Aspindleheadstockofamultiple-operationmachinetool,whosehousingaccommodates,inacoaxialandrotatablearrangement,aspindlekinematicallycoupledtoarotarydrive,atierodcarryingmembersintendedforconnectiontotheshankofaboringheadhavingaswivelcarriage,whichtierodisaxiallyadjustableinrelationtothespindle,andabarcarryingtoothedmembersformeshingwithtoothedmembersmountedonanendofaslidebarwhoseoppositeendservesforradialdisplacementofthecarriage.Thebariskinematicallycoupledtoadrivewherebyitisdisplacedintheaxialdirectioninrelationtothespindle.Themembersofthetierod,whichserveforconnectiontotheshankoftheboringhead,aremountedonthetierodsothattheycanradiallyreciprocateduringlocationofthetierod.Forradialadjustmentofthebar,abushingisprovidedonthetierod,whichisaxiallystationaryinrelationtothetierodandkinematicallycoupledtothespindleandbar.

FIELDOFTHEINVENTION

Thepresentinventionrelatestothemanufactureofmachinetoolsandismorespecificallyconcernedwithspindleheadstocks.

Thespindleheadstockinaccordancewiththeinventionisbestapplicabletothemachiningofholesofcomplicatedcross-sectionalshapesonmultiple-operationmachinetoolswithautomatictoolchangers.

BACKGROUNDOFTHEINVENTION

Thereisknownaspindleheadstockofamultiple-operationmachinetool,comprisingahousingwhichaccommodatesinacoaxialandrotatablearrangement,aspindle,atierod,andabar.Thespindleishollowandkinematicallycoupledtoamaindrive.Itaccommodatesashankofamandrelofaboringhead.Theshankisprovidedwithanexternaltoothrimatoneofitsends,whichisintendedtomeshwithaninternaltoothrimprovidedattheendofthetierod.Thetierodiskinematicallycoupledtoadrivebymeansofwhichitisaxiallylocatedandthetoothrimsoftheshankoftheboringheadandofthetierodmeshwitheachother.Thetierodcanbeturnedforlocationrelativetothespindlethroughananglesuchthattheteethofthetoothrimsarebroughttoapositiononeoppositeanother.

Insidethetierodthereisabarkinematicallycoupledtoadrivewhichmovesitintheaxialdirection.Atoneendofthebarthereisaninternaltoothrimwhichservestomeshwithanexternaltoothrimatoneendofaslidebarwhoseoppositeendservestoconvertthetranslationmotionofthebarintheaxialdirectiontoradialmotionofthecarriage.

Inordertobringtheteethofthetoothrimsofthebarandslidebarinapositionoppositeoneanother,thebariskinematicallycoupledtothetierodsothatthetwocanrotatesimultaneouslyforlocation（cf.USSRInventor'

Inthisspindleheadstock,theshankofthemandreloftheboringheadiscoupledtothetierodbymeansofasplinejoint.Thisjointcannotprovideforanaccuratelocationoftheboringhead,becauseitisimpossibletoeliminateclearancesbetweentheteeth.Theresultantbendingmomentcausesdeformationofthemandreloftheboringheadandofthespindle,whichaffectsthemachiningaccuracy.Aremovalorlooseningoftheshankmaydisturbthecorrectangularpositioningofitsteeth,which,inturn,maybethecauseofanaccident.

Themanufactureofatoothrimfortheshank,whichwouldalwaysprovideforanaccurateangularorientation,involvesanumberofseriousdifficulties.

SUMMARYOFTHEINVENTION

Itisanobjectofthepresentinventiontoimprovetheaccuracyoflocationofthemandreloftheboringheadinthespindleandmakeitsclampingmoresecure.Itisanotherobjectoftheinventiontoprovideforalongerservicelifeofspindleheadstocks.Itisafurtherobjectoftheinventiontoexpandtherangeofapplicationofmachinetools.

Theinventionprovidesaspindleheadstockofamultiple-operationmachinetool,comprisingahousingwhichaccommodates,inacoaxialandrotatablearrangement,aspindlekinematicallycoupledtoamaindrive,atierodcarryingmembersforconnectiontoashankofaboringheadhavingaswivelcarriage,thetierodbeingadjustableintheaxialdirectioninrelationtothespindle,andabarcarryingtoothedmembersintendedtomeshwithtoothedmembersmountedonanendofaslidebarwhoseoppositeendservesforradialdisplacementofthecarriage,thebarbeingkinematicallycoupledtoadrivewhichmovesitintheaxialdirectioninrelationtothespindle,thespindleheadstockbeingcharacterized,accordingtotheinvention,inthatthemembersofthetierod,whichareintendedforconnectiontotheshankoftheboringhead,aremountedonthetierodsothattheycanreciprocateintheradialdirectionduringlocationofthetierod,andinthatabushingismountedontheti
