InoneofProf.Eden’sexperiments,hedividedbankbranchmanagersintotwogroups.Onegroupofmanagerswastoldthattheiremployeeswerepreeminent;

WhenProf.Edenanalyzedperformanceresults,hefoundasignificantdifferencebetweenthebranches.Therehadbeennopreexistingdifferencesbetweentheemployees,butthebranchmanagers,whowereledtoexpectmore,gotmore—theirbranchesscoredhigherintermsofprofitability(收益)andoveralleconomicsuccess.

Studyresultsindicatethatwhenamanagerexpectsalotfromanemployee,themanager’sleadershipstylechangesandsubsequentlybooststheemployee’sselfconfidence.
