standard作可数名词，意为“标准；
水平”，复数形式为standards。

HedoesnotspeakstandardPutonghua.他的普通话说得不规范。
Thereisnoabsolutestandardforbeauty.美是没有绝对的标准的。

①advise建议；
劝告，忠告；
通知；
警告
advise后接动词作宾语时，要用动名词，不用不定式；
但若其后接的动词前有宾语，此动词用作宾语补足语时，则此动词要用不定式。
即说advisedoingsth（建议做某事）或advisesbtodosth（建议某人做某事）。
类似情况的还有allow（允许），permit（允许），forbid（禁止）等动词。

丈夫建议搬到南方去，但他妻子建议他放弃这种想法。
