FindingtherightplacetoliveincanhelpensureamostrewardingexperienceintheUnitedStatesforinternationalstudents.Dependingonyoursituation,whetheryouareherealoneorwithafamily,thedurationofyourstay,theamountofprivacyyouwouldlike,anythingfromlivingoncampusinaresidencehalltoprivateaccommodationinamotelcansuityourneeds.AsanESLstudent,yourhousingmayormaynotbeincludedinthestudyprogram.Thebasicchoicetomakeiswhethertoliveonoroffcampus.Thereareadvantagesanddisadvantagestoboth.

Theadvantagesoflivingoncampusareasfollows:

youwillhaveafurnishedroom,easyaccesstocampusfacilitiessuchaslibraries,computerlabs,sportsfacilitiesandcafeterias,accesstosocialactivitiesandpeers,andmaximuminteractionwithotherstudents.Eatingoncampusisusuallycheaper,andyoudon'thavetoworryabouttransportationtoandfromclasses.Therearealsosomedisadvantages.Youmaybesharingabedroomwithotherstudents,soyouwillnothavemuchprivacy.Youmustbeflexiblewhenlivingwithothers.

Theadvantagesoflivingoffcampusareasfollows:

Agroupofwell-trainedstaffareresponsibletoseethatallpublicareasarecleanatalltimes.Securityguardsarealwaysonwatchonthefirstfloortoanswerquestionsandcomplaintsandguaranteethesafetyofeveryresident.
