IamhappytoinformyouthattheWheatGeneticsandGenomicsResearchCenteratKansasStateUniversitywillbeabletohostyourtwoyearsvisitfromSeptember2008toSeptember2010,althoughthesedatesareflexibleandyoucanjoinusearlierifyouwish.DuringthistimeyouwillreceivetraininginState-Of-The-Artmolecularcytogenetictechniquesandwillapplythesetechniquesforthecharacterizationofwheat-Dasypyrumbreviaristatumintrogressionlines.YouhaveseveralpublicationswritteninEnglish,suggestingyouhaveexcellentEnglish.Inmyopinion,wecancommunicatewithandunderstandeachotherfreely.TheWGGRCisnotcharginganybenchfeesandwillprovideallequipmentandsuppliesfortheproposedresearch.Alistofourfacilitiesandequipmentisattachedtothisletter.However,yourfellowshipneedstocovertheinternationaltravelcostsandlivingexpensesinManhattan,whichareapproximately1.200USDpermonth.

IjoinedtheWGGRCin1989andsincethenhavebeenworkingonthetransferandmolecularcytogeneticcharacterizationofwheat-alienintrogressionlinesconferringresistancetodiseasesandpests.Ihavepublishedmorethan140researcharticlesandbookchaptersininternationaljournalsandIamontheboardoftheinternationaljournalsTHEORETICALANDAPPLIEDGENETICS,CYTOGENETICANDGENOMERESEARCH,ANDCHROMOSOMERESEARCH.
