systemdoesagoodjobofirrigatingfarminglandacross

peoplefeelproudofthesystembecaudeithassupportedalarge

amountofpeopleintheirdailylife.

Whatmakesthissystemsogood?

Thesystemisalargehydraulicwaterprojectwhichconsists

ofthreemainparts:

theFishMouthWater-DividingDam,the

FlyingSandFence,andtheBottle-NeckChannel.

TheFishmouthfunctionstodividetheflowofwaterintoan

innerriverandanouterriver.Longago,whenLiBingworked

asthelocalgovernoroftheShuState,hefoundtheoldriver

canalwastoonarrowtoholdmuchwater,whichoftenoverflowed

thebanksandcauseddisastrousflood.Basedonnatural
