ThetitleofmybookreportisthesametitleofthebookNeverLetMeGo.Ilikeitverymuchamongallthebooks.Mostprobablybecausetheloveandthefriendshipbetweenthethreemaincharacters.TheauthorofthisbookisaJapaneseborninEngland,whosenameisKazuoIshiguro.BecauseIloveJapaneseanime,IalwaysthinkthatJapaneseareimaginativeandcreative.Asamatteroffact,thisstoryisfullofimagination.

ThenarratorofthestoryisKathy.H.SheandherfriendsusedtoliveinaplacecalledHailsham.ShemadefriendswithRuthandTommythere.TommywasaboywholovedKathyactuallybutgottogetherwithRuthfirst.AtHailsham,theyknewMadamewhogatheredtheirpictureswereafraidofthem.OneyearbeforetheygraduatedfromHailsham,MissLucywhowasoneoftheirteacherstoldthemthattheywerecreatedtodonatetheirvitalorgans.WhentheyfinishedthelifeinHailsham,theymovedintoCottages.BothKathyandRuthtriedtofindtheirpossiblearoundthatperiodoftime.AfterthatRuthandTommybegandonationwhileKathystartedhernewlifeasacarer.DuetoRuth'spoorhealth,Kathydecidedtobecomehercarer.BeforeRuth'death,shegavetheaddressoftheMadametoKathyandaskedhertodeferthedonationwithTommy.Later,KathybecameTommys'scarerandtheyfollowedRuth'sadvicetogotofindMademe,buttotheirdisappiontment,theyknewthatthedeferraldidn'texistatallandHailshamwasclosed.Finally,Tommydiedtoo,andKathywasreadyforherdonationafterherlastvisittoHailsham.

ThenameofthestoryisthenameoftapewhichwasKathy'sfavourite.Thenamehasseveralmeanings.Firstly,themusicrepresentedthepeopleandtheplacesthatKathyloved.Also,Hailshamwheretheywerebroughtupwasregardedasthesechildren'shome,sotheydidn'twanttoleavethereanddonatetheirorgans,whichmeantdeathtothem.Secondly,eventheywerefriends,theywereseparatedwhentheystartedtodonate.Althoughtheylovedeachother,theycouldn'tchangeanything.Thirdly,theirloveandfriendshipeventheexistanceofthemselveswerefake,becausethemeaningoftheirlivewastodonateorgans.Theydidn'twanttodiewithoutleavinganything.

Then,Iwanttosaysomethingaboutthemaincharacters.Firstofall,thenarratorofthestoryKathy.Theveryfirstimpressionshegavemewasthatshewasverykind.Asamatteroffacts,shewasfondofTommy.ButwhenRuthaskedhertohelpthemtogettogetheragain,sheagreedwhithouthesitation.WheneverRuthaskedforhelp,Kathywouldhelpherjustduetotheirfriendship.TheplotthatsheheldapillowandlistenedtothemusicNeverLetMeGoimpressedmealot.Ithinkshewasagirlwhohadalotofimagination,otherwiseshewouldn'tholdapillowandbehavedlikeamother.

ThenextoneisTommy.Attheverybeginning,hisbehaviorshowedhewasanaughtyandinnocentboy.Whereasactually,hewasquiteconsiderate.Hetriedtoknewmoreaboutdeferral,forhelikedKathy.WhenKathyfoundherpossibleinthebooks,heknewthetruthwhileothersdidn't.AsfarasI'mconsidered,thereasonwhyhefinallyrefusedtokeepKathyashiscarerwashedidn'twanthertoseethebehaviorafterhisdonation,whichmaymakeKathyfeelscared.ButIdon'tknowwhyhechoseRuthfirst.Maybeatthattime,hedidn'trealizethathehadalreadylovedKathy.Ormaybehejustdid'twanttohurtRuth.

ThethirdoneisRuth.Inmyopinion,RuthwasabravegirlandIadmirethiskindofgirls.SheknewthatTommylovedKathy,butshedidn'tgiveup.HerorginalpurposeoffindingtheaddressofMadamewastorealizethedreamofdeferralwithTommy.AftershefoundKathywastheonethatTommyloved,shegaveupandtoldthemthetruth.Besides,sheevenpersuadedthemtohaveatryfinally.AlthoughIdidn'tlikeheratfirstbecausesheseemedtobeaggressive,IwasmovedwhenshewasdyingsheletKathytofindMadame.

MadameandMissEmilywasthelastones.TheyestablishedHailsham,tookcareofthese'children'andhelpedtheytogrowhealthilybothphysiologicallyandmentally.Itwashardtosaywhethertheywererightornot.Burasforme,theywereright.Ononehand,ifIwereoneofthese'children',Imaysupportthem.BecausewithoutadmiteveryonejustafraidofmeandHailshamcouldbeashelter.Ontheotherhand,tosayitcruelly,theycouldprovidehealthierorgansiftheywerehealthy.Inaddition,bothofthemwerekindandfriendly.WhenMadamesawKathyholdthepillowshedidn'tsayanything,forsheknewactually,theywerenotabletohavetheirownbaby.Also,whenMissEmilysaidsomethingaboutsmoking,sheexplaineditcarefullyjustincaseshehurttheirhearts.Therefore,theywereadmirabaletokeepHailshamforsuchalongtimewhiletheywereunderthepressure.
