ThisgeneraltemplatehelpsyouonpreparingmanuscriptforpartofElsevierJournals.UsethisdocumentasatemplateifyouareusingMicrosoftWord6.0orlater.Herecomesself-containedabstract.PleasereadtheGuideforAuthorsofyourtargetjournalfortherequirementsofAbstract.Payspecialattentiontothewordcount.

1.Introduction

ThemanuscriptshouldbepreparedandsubmittedaccordingtotheGuideforAuthorsofyourtagetjournal..Foryourconvenience,briefinstructionsonmanuscriptpreparationarerecordedbelow.

PleaseDOconsultarecentjournalpaperforstyleandconventions.YoumayfindsamplesonScienceDirect.Youneedtocheckyourmanuscriptcarefullybeforeyousubmitit.Theeditorreservestherighttoreturnmanuscriptsthatdonotconformtotheinstructionsformanuscriptpreparation.

2.Generalremarksonmanuscriptpreparation

Generally,doublelinespacing,12ptsfont,andTimesNewRomanarepreferredwhenyoutypethemanuscriptforreview.Thistextformattingisprovidedinordertofacilitaterefereeprocessandisalsorequiredforpropercalculationofyourmanuscriptlength.Typingyourmanuscriptfollowstheorder:

Title,Authors,Affiliations,Abstract,Keywords,Maintext,Acknowledgements（optional）,References（optional）,Figurecaptions,FiguresandTables.PleaseconsulttheGuideforAuthorsfortheproperorganizationofthemaintext.Ensurethateachnewparagraphisclearlyindicated.Somejournalsalsorequirelinestobenumberedthroughoutthemanuscript.Youwillusuallywanttodivideyourarticleintonumberedsectionsandsubsections.PresentfiguresandtablesattherightplacesmentionedintheGuideforAuthors.

Mostformattingcodesareremovedorreplacedwhileprocessingyourarticlesothereisnoneedforyoutouseexcessivelayoutstyling.Pleasedonotuseoptionssuchasautomaticwordbreaking,doublecolumnsorautomaticparagraphnumbering（especiallyfornumberedreferences）.Douseboldface,italic,subscripts,superscripts,etc.,asappropriate.

2.1Illustrations

Manyjournalsrequiredthatfiguresandtablestobepresentedonseparatepagesattheendofthemanuscript.Thepreferablefileformatsare:

EPS（forvectorgraphics）andTIF（forbitmaps）.However,PDFandMSOffice（Word,Excel,Powerpointfigures）filesarealsoacceptable.Usefilenamesthatenabletoidentifytheircontentsintermsoffigurenumberandformat（e.g.fig1.tif,fig2.eps,fig3.pdf）.Allartworkhastobenumberedaccordingtoitssequenceinthetext.Allofthemshouldhavecaptions.Colourfiguresinprintedversionrequireanextrafeeformostjournals.Generally,noverticalrules（lines）shouldbeusedintables.Illustrationsshouldnotduplicatedescriptionsthatappearelsewhereinthemanuscript.

2.2Equations

Conventionally,inmathematicalequationsvariablesandanythingthatrepresentsavalueappearinitalics.Youareencouragedtouseequation-editingtoolssuchasmathtypetoeditequations.Pleasemakeuseofthenumberingandreferencingfunctions.

2.3Citations

Therearedifferentstylesofin-textcitationsandreferencelists.DOconsulttheGuideforAuthorstoseethegivenexamples.Payspecialattentiontotheformatofauthornames,journalnames,publicationyear,volumeandpagespan.
