Iwastiredandsweaty,justwantingtogettothetopofthemountainsoIcouldrestwellbeforestartingmywayback.Ilearnedearlyonduringourwalkthatthiswasn’tgoingtobethecase.Wehadtostopandlookateverylargerockwithsomeone’snamecarvedinit.Welookedatunusualplantformations.Weexaminedlargetreesandweexploredsmallrockoverhangsthatremindedthekidsofcaves.Mygrandsonsviewedthewalkasanexcitingadventure.Climbingthemountainwasatrialtomebutmygrandsonswerenotfocusedatallonthetrialofclimbingthemountain;theyweresimplyenjoyingthejourneyofthewalk.
