Christmas,whichisonDecember25th,isthemostimportantfestivalintheChristianworld.Originally,Christmaswasareligiousrite,anditbecameafixedholidayduringthe440AD.TodaythisholidayiscelebratedasananniversaryofthebirthofChrist,thoughitsreligiousaspectisalmostreplacedbytheincreasingcommercialization.

BeforeChristmas,almosteveryonewillprepareaChristmasgiftforhisorherrelativesorfriends,andputthemundertheChristmastree.ThenonthemorningofChristmasDay,thewholefamilysitinthelivingroom,waitingfortheirpresentstobeopened.It’sanexcitingmomentsbecauseeveryonekeepsitasecretwhatpresentstheyhaveboughtfortheirrelatives.ThecelebrationusuallyincludesanexchangsofChristmascardsandpresentsamongrelativesandfriends.

StylisticFeatures:

这是一篇用第一人称讲述的记叙文。

语言质朴,简练。

向读者讲述圣诞节发生在一个小男孩身上的故事。

贯穿全文的线索就是小男孩发现的那辆妈妈送给自己作为圣诞礼物的自行车,作者围绕这辆自行车,把小男孩的心理活动描写的淋漓尽致,同时也表达了亲人之间浓浓的亲情,并在结尾用了一个意想不到的转折,给故事画上了圆满的句号。

特别是作者详细描写的那段自己在房间里练习圣诞节那天的惊讶表情的经过,使读者感受到儿子为了给母亲带来快乐所作出的努力。

在对圣诞节互送礼物的描写上,作者仍然详细地叙述了由于母亲精心安排,自己有失望到极度快乐的感情变化。

在最后一段,作者只用了一个比较状语从句告知读者,母亲与儿子同样感受到幸福和快乐。
