In2010welaunchedtheUnileverSustainableLivingPlan–asetoftargetsdesignedtohelpusdeliverourobjectiveofgrowingourbusinesswhileminimisingourimpactontheenvironment.

Unilever’sSupplierCodestatesthat:

∙Thereshallbecompliancewithallapplicablelawsandregulationsofthecountrywhereoperationsareundertaken.

∙Thereshallberespectforhumanrights,andnoemployeeshallsufferharassment,physicalormentalpunishment,orotherformsofabuse.

∙Wagesandworkinghourswill,asaminimum,complywithallapplicablewageandhourlaws,andrulesandregulations,includingminimumwage,overtimeandmaximumhoursinthecountryconcerned.

∙Thereshallbenouseofforcedorcompulsorylabour,andemployeesshallbefreetoleaveemploymentafterreasonablenotice.

∙Thereshallbenouseofchildlabour,andspecificallytherewillbecompliancewithrelevantInternationalLabourOrganization(ILO) standards.

AstheUnileversixglobalR&Dcenters,UnileverResearchCentre(Shanghai)coversanareaofabout30000squaremeters,investmentamountedto50000000euros,appointmentfrom15countriesaroundtheworldmorethan450R&Dpersonnel.
