Whentheystimulated(刺激)theleftsideofthebrainwithsoundsintherightearduringdeepsleeponthefirstnight,thatledtogreaterpossibilityofwakingandfasteractionuponwaking,thanifsoundswereplayedinthelefteartoaffecttherightsideofthebrain.Onthesecondnight,therewasn’tanydifferenceinreactionstotestsbetweentheleftandrightsidesofthebrain,evenduringdeepsleep.Thissuggeststhatthereisafirst-night-onlyeffectspecificallyinonesideofthebrainduringdeepsleep,theauthorsconclude.
