ISEATRIALOFHULLPART

I-1GENERAL

(1)Allteststobecarriedoutwhenallsystemsandancillarieshavebeencompletedandmooringtestshavebeendone.

(2)Ingeneral,zigzag-maneuvertest,turningcircletest,inertiatest,crashstopaheadtest,vibrationtest,noisemeasurementandwilliamsonturntestshouldbecarriedoutonlyforfirstvessel,andtheabovementionedtestsshouldbeomittedforsecondandsubsequentships(pending).

I-2TestConditionandPlace

Thevesselistobeballastedtotheballastconditionandfollowingtrialstobeperformed.BeforeProgressiveSpeedTrial,thedrafts(foredraftis7.18m,aftdraftis9.18m(displacementabout80800m3))shouldbeverifiedbytheremotedraftreadingonboard,whichiscalibratedandconfirmedbyownerduringtheIncliningExperiment.

Theprogressivespeedtrialtobecarriedoutincalmsea,withsmallwindforce.IfthewindforceexceedsBeaufortscale3,windandshallowwatercorrectionshouldbeappliedaccordingtoBSRAmethod.

I-3ProgressiveSpeedTrial(SeeTableH-1)

(1)Theprogressivespeedtrialistobecarriedoutunderthefollowingfiveworkingconditions.

(2)Beforespeedtrialtheloadadjustmentaccordingtoloadingrequirements,draftgaugeandmeasurementofseawaterspecificgravitytobecarriedout.

(3)Thedepthofwaterinseatrialareatobemorethan80m.Exceptcondition5,Eachspeedtrialistoconsistoftwoconsecutiverunsalongandagainstthetideoverthesamecourseandthespeed,mainengineratingandrevolutionshallbeobtainedasthemeanvalueofthetwoconsecutiverunsateachconditionasshowninthefollowingformula:

V=(V1+V2)/2,P=(P1+P2)/2,N=(N1+N2)/2

Speedmeasureistobecarriedout1nauticalmiledistanceforeachrun.Beforearrivingatthespeed-measuringareathevesselshallrunasufficientdistanceofabt.3nauticalmilesinorderthatthemainenginehasrunatstableoutputsbeforethespeedmeasurementcommences.Duringspeedmeasuringwithintestsectioncoursedeviationshallbenotmorethan2degrees,steeringangleshallbenotmorethan±5degrees.

(4)Speed-measuringmethod

ThetrialspeedistobemeasuredbyDGPS.Theoutputshaftpowerandrevolutionofmainenginetobemeasuredbytorsionmeter.Theinstrumentswhichusedinthetestshouldhavethecertificationofverificationbeforespeedtrials.

(5)Measurementrecord

a.Testtimeandwaterdepthofeverytrip.

b.Windvelocityanddirection,weathercondition.

c.Ship’sspeed,revolutions,powerofM/E(rpm)andindicatorhorsepowerofeverytrip.

(6)Ship’sspeedcalculation

Ship’sspeedatdesigndraft(16.5m)tobeobtainedfromthefollowingformula:

VTD=VTB*VMD/VMB

intheformula:

VTD–actualspeedatdesigndraft.

VTB–actualspeedatballastdraft.

VMD–modeltestspeedatdesigndraftin

VMB–modeltestspeedatballastdraft.

I-4InertiaTest,CrashStopAsternTestandCrashStopAheadTest

(1)InertiaTest(OnlyH1008)(SeeTableH-2)

Whenshipisgoingfullaheadatnormalrpm(86.2r/min),giveanordertostopmainengine.Whenship’sspeedreducestothespeedabt.5knthetestisfinished.Duringthetestthecourseheadingshouldbekeptbychangingtherudderangle.MeasureandrecordthedistanceandtimefromtheorderofstopM/Etotheship’sspeedreduceto5kn.

(2)Crashstopasterntest(SeeTableH-3)

Whenshipisgoingfullaheadatnormalrpm(86.2r/min),giveanordertomakemainenginerunastern(63r/min).Whenship’sspeedreducestothespeedabt.0knthetestisfinished.Duringthetestkeeprudderangleat0degree.Measureandrecordthedistanceandtimefromcommandfullasterntotheship’sspeedreduceto0kn.

(3)Crashstopaheadtest(OnlyH1008)(SeeTableH-4)

Whenshipisgoingasternwith63r/minofmainengine,giveanordertomakemainenginerunahead(86.2r/min).Whenship’sspeedreducestothespeedabt.0kn,thetestisfinished.Duringthetestkeeprudderangleat0degree.Measureandrecordthedistanceandtimefromcommandfullaheadtotheship’sspeedreducetoabout0kn.

I-5TurningCircleTest(OnlyH1008)(SeeTableH-5)

(1)Testmethod

Whenthesteeringgearisintheconditionofdoublepumpworking,thetestshouldbedoneatfullspeed(91r/min),harborfullspeed(68r/min)andharborhalfspeed(55r/min)respectively:

a.Therudderangleisturnedtohardstarboard(35degree)andhelduntiltheship’sheadinganglechangesto540degree,thetestisfinished.

b.Resumethestraightcourseuntilthespeedrecovery.

c.Therudderangleisturnedtohardportside(35degree)andhelduntiltheship’sheadinganglechangesto540degree,thetestisfinished.

d.Resumethestraightcourseuntilthespeedrecovery.

(2)Measurementrecordthetransferdistance,advancedistance,turningdiameterandmaximumheelingangle.

I-6ZigzagManeuveringTest(SeeTableH-6)

(1)Testmethod

Whenthevesselisrunningahead(91r/min),thetestistobecarriedoutinaccordancewithfollowingsteps:

a.Therudderangleisturnedfromitszeropositionto10starboardandhelduntilthecourseofthevesselchangestoanangleof10starboardtotheoriginalcourse;

b.Therudderangleisturnedfrom10starboardto10portandhelduntilthecourseofthevesselchangestoanangleof10porttooriginalcourse;

c.Therudderangleisturnedfrom10portto10starboardandhelduntilthecourseofthevesselchangestoanangleof10starboardtooriginalcourse:

d.Therudderangleisturnedfrom10starboardtoitszeropositionandhelduntilthevesselrunsinoriginalcourse.

(2)Measurementrecord

a.M/Erevolution.

b.Initialvesselspeed.

c.Timeofeverystageandcourseangle.

I-7CourseKeepingTest(SeeTableH-7)

Duringseatrail,checkthecoursestability:

(1)Keepthesteeringtillerunchangedwhilethevesselissailingfullahead(91r/min)withsteeringbyhand.RecordthereadingofGYROCOMPASSwiththeintervalof30seconds.Measurementwillbecontinuedfor3minutes,onetimeforfairandcountercurrentrespectively.

(2)Thevesselissailingfullahead(91r/min)andtobeensuredtokeepthecourse.Measurethetimesofsteeringforkeepingthecourseandthemax.Rudderangle.Measurementwillbecontinuedfor3minutes,onetimeforfairandcountercurrentrespectively.

I-8SteeringGearTest(SeeTableH-8)

(1)Mainengineiscontrolledinwheelhouse,andmaneuverhandletobeputinthepositionofaheadandfullspeed(91r/min).Steeringtesttobedoneinwheelhouse.OperatethehydraulicpumpNo.1orNo.2respectively,dothetestbyputtingtherudderanglefrom0to35starboard/from35starboardto35port/form35portto0/from0to35port/from35portto35starboard/from35starboardto0.Measureship’sheelingangle.Thetimerequiredtoputtherudderfrom35ofonesideto30ofanothersideshallnotexceed28second.

(2)Mainenginetobeputonthestatusofaheadandfullspeed,runningtwohydraulicpumps,testthecapabilityofputtingtherudderfrom0to35starboard/from35starboardto35port/form35portto35starboard/from35starboardto0.

Followingdatatoberecorded

a.Weather,seacondition.

b.Timerequiredforeachmovingrudder.

c.Maximumoilpressureinhydrauliccylinders

d.Maximumcurrentofmotor.

(3)Emergencysteeringgeartest

Totesttheemergencysteeringeffectivenessinsteeringgearroomwithship’srunningathalfspeed(M/Eabt76r/min)butnotlessthan7Kn.

Byturningthepumpcontrolhandlemaketherudderanglechangedfrom0-15starboard-15port-0onetime.Measurethetimeofsteeringfrom15starboardto15port.Itshouldnotexceed60second.

(4)Autopiloteffectivenesstest

Duringthemainengineendurancetest,dothetestwithNo.1&No2steeringsystemrespectively.

--NFU(manual)steering

--HAND(following)steering

--AUTO(automatic)steering

Setupaheadingcourse,navigatewithautopilot,andobservethekeepingcoursecapacitywithcourserecorder.Thendothetestofchangingheadingcourse.

I-9WindlassandAnchoringTest(SeeTableH-9)

(1)Ananchor-groundwithmorethan82.5meterdepthshallbeselectedunderacalmseaconditionandthebowintheupwind.

(2)Eachanchoristobeletgodowngraduallytothesurfaceofthewater.

(3)Fiveshotsofchainsofonesideanchoristobeletgodownfreely.Duringthisprocessmanuallybrake.Checkthereliabilityofthebrakesystem.

(4)Onesideanchoristobehoisted.Duringhoistingprocess,averagespeedofhoistinganchortobemeasuredandrecorded.(bymeasuringNo.2andNo.3shotofchain),Theaveragespeedisnotlessthan9m/min.Thenhoisttheanchoruptobellmouthwithwindlass.

(5)Anotheranchoristobetestedinthesamewayasabove.

(6)Datatoberecorded

Date&placeoftest,weather,waterdepth,actuallengthofchainunderwater,maximumoilpressureandmaximumworkingcurrentofelectricmotoretc.

(7)Twoanchorstobehoistedatthesametimewithoneshotofchainunderwater.
