Whenitcametothesecondroundoftests,Dr.Gollefoundthatthepersonalitiesofbothgroupshadnotchangedsignificantly.Asforchangesinaltitude,again,nonewerenoticeableintheuniversitygroup.However,thosewhohadchosenthevocationalrouteshowedmarkeddropsininterestintasksthatareinvestigativeandenterprisinginnature.Andthatmightrestricttheirchoiceofcareers.

Thechangesinattitudethattheresearchersrecordedweremoreworrying.VocationaltraininghasalwaysbeenwhatGermanypridesitselfon.IfDrGolleiscorrect,andchangesinattitudebroughtaboutbytheverytrainingarenarrowingpeople’schoicesthatisindeedamatterworthyofseriousconsideration.
